MEMBERSHIP
QUALIFICATIONS OF MEMBERSHIP
To qualify for church membership, a person must give evidence of being born again, must have been baptized by immersion, and must accept and adhere to our constitution and our statement of faith.
PROCEDURE FOR MEMBERSHIP
A candidate for membership shall become familiar with the church constitution. Each candidate shall be interviewed by the Deacons, and by the Pastor(s) when possible. A record of the interview shall be retained in the church files. With the recommendation of the Deacons, each person shall be voted upon by the members. A majority vote is required to admit a person to membership. New members shall be publicly welcomed into membership. When appropriate, the church Clerk shall notify any new member’s former church of the action taken by this church.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND PRIVILEGES OF MEMBERSHIP
Each member is responsible to love, honor, and esteem the Pastor(s); to pray for them; and to recognize pastoral authority in spiritual affairs of the church; to cultivate brotherly love for all members of the church; to support the church prayerfully and financially; and to support the beliefs and practices of the church through a life-style based on Biblical principles.
