OUR CULTURE

Our story

West Windsor Baptist Church (WWBC) is an independent church in the Baptist tradition. It has been in continuous operation since 1841. The church relocated to its present location from its former site along NYS Route 17 in 2000. The congregation is made up of about 225 people from the surrounding community.

WWBC is associated with the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches (GARBC) Schaumburg, IL and the Northeast Fellowship of Independent Baptist Churches (NFIBC).

In 2011, WWBC welcomed Pastor Brian King to the ministry as lead pastor.
Assistant Pastor Christian Mickey joined the staff in 2017 as a full-time minister of youth, worship, and outreach.

iHope is a place where it is ok to be yourself. You don’t need to dress up in fancy clothes or put on a “church face” to fit in. Come just as you are. Everyone is welcome, regardless of who you are, what you have done, or what you believe about God. Expect a relaxed atmosphere with passionate worship, a fun children’s ministry, friendly people, and a practical message from God’s word. After the service feel free to stick around and grab some food in our atrium and meet some new people.
There are many street parking spots available around the church. A limited number of handicapped spaces are available near the church.
Kids K-5th grade enjoy games, crafts, snacks, and a lesson at children’s church. A nursery and toddler area is also available throughout the service. Kids K-5th grade stay with there parents during the music portion of the service and have their own program during the message.

We also have a lounge adjacent to the sanctuary with streaming video for parents of small children.

Our purpose

To develop fully functioning followers of Christ who:

Worship God Grow in truth Promote unity Reach their world

How we do that

All that we do is related to these four purposes. Every Sunday at 10:45 a.m. the whole congregation gathers together to worship God through song, Scripture reading, giving, and the preaching of the Word of God. The music is a blend of contemporary songs and hymns led by dedicated musicians. Nursery care is provided for babies and toddlers, as well as a program for children up through grade 2.
We believe that God has revealed Himself and His ways through His wonderful Word and that growing in truth is a lifelong pursuit! For that reason we offer Bible classes for children as well as adults every Sunday throughout the year. Beginning with toddlers (ages 2-3) the major events and themes of the Bible are systematically presented to every age level, discussed together, then applied to life in age appropriate ways.Specialized classes for women, mixed adults, and college/career age young adults are also offered.
To promote unity within the church body small groups, called CORE groups, gather in homes on Saturday and Sunday evenings throughout the year, sharing our lives over a meal and discussing the Sunday morning message together. The WWBC church family also gathers for evening services in the summer and during holiday times. We share our talents, our resources, and our hearts as we work together on projects and committees throughout the year.
With a strong desire to reach our world with the good news of new life in Christ, WWBC endeavors to engage our community in a variety of ways. Every Sunday we welcome guests to join us for the worship service, and also periodically host them for a Guest Reception after the morning service.

On Wednesday evenings during the school year Awana Clubs and Youth Group meet for children and teens (grades 7-12) in the community as well as within the church

In the springtime, there is the annual Sportsmen’s Dinner for men that draws a crowd for its buffet of wild game, as well as workshops and a guest speaker.

The women look forward to “Taste & See” in October for a day of Pinterest-inspired recipes and crafting, along with give-aways and a guest speaker.

“His Story: A Live Nativity” is presented every other year to hundreds of neighbors and friends from surrounding communities.

Our Vision is to "Spark Revival in Our City."

Our Beliefs

God created mankind in his image to live in relationship with him. Yet mankind preferred to go his own way, rebelling against God’s perfect plan. Therefore there is a separation between God and mankind.

Yet, God in his love sent his son Jesus Christ to earth on a rescue mission to save humanity and to bring us back to God. Jesus lived a perfect life; a life that we could never live. Jesus deserved praise, admiration, and worship. Instead, he was mocked, ridiculed, and murdered by men. Jesus was crucified upon a Roman cross and on that cross experienced the wrath of God.

Three days later he rose again from the grave; victorious over sin, death, and darkness. Since that day Christians throughout the nations have proclaimed the glorious good news that in Jesus every man woman, and child can be forgiven from their sins and be accepted as sons as daughters of the King of the universe.

For those who trust in Jesus, this changes everything. The Holy Spirit resides within the believer and transforms his very heart. The reality of the good news, called in the scripture, the Gospel gives us a new identity.
