The Death of Saul | 1 Samuel 31

This week we are wrapping up our current teaching series on 1 Samuel: In Search of a King. The purpose of this series has been to grow in our awe of God, receive warnings about the fallen condition of humanity, and learn to trust in the God who saves. This week we are going to study 1 Samuel 31, the conclusion of the book. We will see that in light of Saul’s rebellion against God, YHWH will fulfill His promise to remove Saul from the throne by allowing him to die in battle at the hands of the Philistines. This week we will learn more about God’s sovereignty over all life, even our leaders.
