Overview of Romans

This week we are starting a new series called Romans: The Power of the Gospel. Romans is a letter written by the apostle Paul to the first century church of Rome. This book is often considered a theological masterpiece because it provides the most comprehensive explanation of the gospel of God. At the same time, the book of Romans is also intensely practical. When read in context, Paul shows how a right understanding of the gospel provides proper motivation to live the Christian life. Therefore, the purpose of this series is to rightly understand the gospel—what God has done for sinners—and how the gospel empowers Christians to walk in newness of life. The hope is that this study will increase our awe of God which will propel right living for Him. Join us this week as we begin the series by understanding the book as a whole and how the individual parts fit together.
